The Banks of a River

The Banks of a River

The artist book ‘The Banks of a River’ was made using a series of photographs of petri dishes containing framed focussed images of seeds, berries and flowers collected when walking each day in July 2016, along the banks of the River Tweed near Maxton in the Scottish Borders.

The images are set alongside an elemental poem from a sample of river water, processed using liquid chromatography – capturing the formula of the river at that point in the year.

The work is part story telling and part seasonal, a visual meditation while you read your own journey.
