The Boiler House

The artist book ‘The Boiler House’  is the first in a series of studies of the wonderful boiler house designed by Peter Womersley in 1977, to service the Dingleton Mental Health Hospital, Melrose.

The images are collections of plants and construction materials (the site is now derelict) collected from the site and set alongside an elemental poem from a sample of water taken from the flooded basement floor, processed using liquid chromatography – capturing the formula of the water held by the building at that time in the year.
